The EU Directive 94/62/EC is intended to reduce the amount of packaging waste in the EU and to ensure it is recycled correctly. Manufacturers/distributors of packaging or packaged products therefore have a take-back obligation in many European countries. In Germany, the current Packaging Directive (VerpackV) will be replaced by the Packaging Act (VerpackG) on 01/01/2019.
